Get ready

Documents checklist

Having these ready is the single biggest thing that speeds up a decision. Your client portal shows exactly which ones your application needs, and you can photograph most of them with your phone.

Every application

Cash advance, line of credit, term loan and the rest

  • Driver license or state IDFront and back, unexpired, for each owner of 20% or more.
  • Voided business checkOr a bank letter showing the account and routing number.
  • Business bank statementsThe last 3 full months plus month-to-date (or the last 4 full months), every page, as the PDF from your bank's website (not photos or screenshots).
  • Card processing statementsThe last 3 months, if you take card payments.

Larger amounts and loans

Line of credit, term loan, and cash advances over $100,000

  • Business tax returnsThe most recent 2 years, all pages and schedules.
  • Year-to-date profit and lossDated within the last 90 days.
  • Balance sheet and debt scheduleFor term loans: every loan, advance and lease you're paying.

SBA and invoice factoring

Extra items these programs require

  • SBAPersonal tax returns, personal financial statement (SBA Form 413), Form 1919, entity documents, résumé, lease and a business plan.
  • Invoice factoringAccounts receivable aging report, the invoices you want funded, your customer list and entity documents.

Tip: download statements as PDFs straight from your bank's website. Scanned or photographed statements usually have to be sent again, which slows everything down.

Words you'll see

Glossary

Business day
Monday to Friday, not counting bank holidays. Daily payments are usually taken on business days only.
Factor rate
The multiplier that sets the total payback on a cash advance, such as 1.25 or 1.40.
Payback (RTR)
The total amount you repay, sometimes called the "right to receive" on a cash advance.
Remittance
The payment taken from your account on a cash advance, daily or weekly.
Position
Each advance or loan you're currently paying. "Second position" means a business already has one open advance.
Stacking
Taking a new advance while others are still open. Funders look closely at how many positions a business already carries.
Renewal
New funding on a current advance once part of it has been paid, often with the remaining balance paid off from the new amount.
Soft credit pull
A credit check that doesn't affect your credit score. A hard pull, which can, may come later for some loan products.
UCC filing
A public notice a funder files to record its interest in business assets or receivables. It's standard for most business funding.
Personal guarantee
A promise by an owner to stand behind the business's obligations. Whether one is needed depends on the product and the funder.
Holdback
On a percentage-based advance, the share of each day's card sales that goes toward repayment.
Estimated APR
The cost of funding expressed as an annual rate, so offers with different terms can be compared.
Questions

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take?

Most decisions come the same business day once we have your complete file, and funding usually follows in 24 to 48 hours. SBA loans take longer because of the program's own review.

Will applying affect my credit score?

The application uses a soft credit pull, which doesn't affect your score. Some loan products may need a hard pull later; you'd be told before that happens.

What do I need to qualify?

Generally at least 6 months in business and a 600+ credit score, with steady deposits into a business bank account. Requirements vary by product and funder.

Is a merchant cash advance a loan?

No. A merchant cash advance is a purchase of a share of your future receivables, repaid from your sales. Lines of credit, term loans and SBA loans are loans.

Can I apply for more than one product?

Yes. Pick every product you're interested in on one application, and compare the offers side by side in your client portal.

Can I pay off early?

It depends on the product and the funder. Your offer and contract say whether an early payoff reduces what you owe. You can request a payoff letter from the Funding page of your portal at any time.

Do I have to talk on the phone?

No. You can apply, upload documents, review offers and message your funding team entirely from your client portal.

Is my information secure?

Your portal is protected by your password plus a passkey or authenticator app. Documents are encrypted and seen only by your funding team, and your full Social Security number is stored separately and never sent by email.
